Fine Art
Harry Fidler was born into a farming family in Teffont Magna, Wiltshire. He spent his early years working on the farm and didn't take any artistic training until he was in his mid thirties when he enrolled at Sir Hubert von Herkomer's renowned Art School in Bushey. The school was to produce a generation of "British Impressionists" including Algernon Talmage and Arnesby Brown.
He married a fellow artist, Laura Clunas and they returned for a time to Teffont Magna before ultimately settling in Stoke, near Andover. He exhibited extensively during his lifetime including at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club and the Paris Salon.
His work can be found in numerous private and public collections including the Bury Art Gallery and the Grundy Art Gallery.
