A really joyful explosion of colour and painterly flourishes with a vase of summer flowers on a table cloth and a glimpse of a sunlit garden through the shutters.
Louis Charrat was born in Lyon and studied at the City's School of Fine Art where he was a contemporary with Camille Niogret, René Chancrin, and Jean Le Moal. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1934 and was elected as a full member in 1936.
