This attractive oil is typical of Mary Remington's luminescent still lifes of everyday objects.
Mary Remington (née Beard) was born in Reigate in 1910. She studied at the Redhill school of Art under William Todd-Brown, at the R.C.A. under Sir William Rothenstein and at the Académie de la Grand Chaumière in Paris. She lived in Sutton, Surrey.
