Professor Thomas Frederick Mason Sheard studied at Oxford before travelling to Paris in 1889 to study at the Académie Julian under Jules Joseph Lefebvre. From 1915 he was Professor of Art at Queen's College, London
He exhibited extensively during his lifetime at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. His work is held in several public collections, examples of which can be viewed here
